***
I’m Brett (all pronouns), a Registered Social Worker providing individual, couples, and family counselling via phone or online in BC, Canada. I am a queer and trans white settler with roots in Calgary and the West Coast, and am of French Canadian, Irish, Germanic and English ancestry. I live in Chemainus on Stz’uminus, Penelakut, Snuneymuxw, and Quw'utsun Territory.
I am a fat, non-binary, trans, queer, disabled person who is committed to anti-racist and decolonial / unsettling work. I am interested in working with white people to deconstruct and address the ways we perpetuate racism, as well as holding space for BIPOC.
I have comfort and ease working with clients who are kinky and/or non-monogamous, and/or sex workers, and have professional experience in the areas of sexual health and sex positivity. I have been working in gender-affirming (transgender) care since 2011.
In my spare time I like to garden, raise chickens, make jewelry and other art things, and enjoy sitting under the roof of the forest.

Extensive Experience with Gender-Affirming Care, Mood Issues, and 2SLGBTQIA+ Care
Individual, Couples & Family Counselling
I have over 15 years experience working in supportive roles with adults and youth. I offer 1 hour sessions with individuals ages 14+, and 75 minute sessions with couples or families. Sessions can be via telephone or audio-video on a computer or smartphone using the internet (Jane App).
Counselling with me may be covered by extended health benefits...
Gender-Affirming Care (Transgender Care)
There is no one way to be trans, non-binary, gender diverse, gender creative or however else someone might describe their gender. I provide general counselling to people of all genders, as well as hormone readiness assessments and surgical readiness assessments.
I use an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed approach...
